THE CROFT

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS in Riddrie

4 hours per week / fortnight

The Croft is a new service for friends and families of prisoners at Barlinnie prison in North Glasgow. The Croft provides a relaxing space to wait before or after going to the prison and to access information and support. There is a minibus provided for the short journey to the prison.

The Croft is currently looking for volunteer drivers (aged 25-60 for insurance purposes) who would like to work with staff and volunteers supporting visitors to get to Barlinnie. Volunteers at the Croft should be calm and approachable; reliable and organised; able to respect others? privacy; able to work well with other people ? volunteers, staff and visitors and enjoy learning new things and meeting new people.

The Croft is currently open on Wednesday afternoons; Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Drivers will be asked to commit to at least 1 driving session per fortnight.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person to work collaboratively with our operational teams across the UK. Your role will be to identify individual and team learning and development (L&D) needs and deliver agreed L&D activities accordingly. In addition you will lead on the management and development of our accredited programmes including Service User qualifications, NVQ, City & Guilds, and Certificate in TSM (Tackling Substance Misuse).? You will also lead on the development and management of our Onefile online assessment tool. The location of the post is flexible, but will require very regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

The Co-ordinator is also responsible for achieving sustainability and growth for the organisation, day-to-day maintenance and development of management systems and supervision and development of an established staff team.

The Co-ordinator reports to the Voluntary Arts Chief Executive, is a member of the Voluntary Arts Senior Management Team and acts as a Deputy Chief Executive of Voluntary Arts.
